We all know how the single era goes. The fun comes in waves. Some nights you just don’t feel like going out. Then when you do hit the town, you’re doing the same old thing with the same old people. It gets boring — and there’s nothing cool guys hate more than routine.

LA Cool Guy was no stranger to the single wave.
He could only go to Roosterfish so many times before he could predict exactly how the night was gonna go. Drop into his buddy’s pregame off Abbot Kinney. Get pizza at Great White, espresso martinis at Gran Blanco, then start the bar rotation. End up at a house party in Venice.
It’s not like he wasn’t having fun. These were his spots. You always knew where to find him. That was kinda the problem. He’d just been everywhere 2349987 times, and all the nights started to blur.
He was always just waiting for something to happen, but there was never anything out of the ordinary. There’s no shortage of cute girls on the Westside that’s for sure. But if he was being honest — they all started to look the same (which isn’t a bad thing, just a thing). He wanted something different, someone different, but he couldn’t quite describe it.

When you get stuck in the blur, it feels like life is just missing that spark. You know the one I’m talking about?
His whole week was getting pretty routine, in fact. Something needed to change. He had to stop chasing the spark and actually become the spark… if that makes any sense. It happened slowly.
He gave himself 2 months. It wasn’t intended to be a reinvention tour. But some sort of evolution was the goal. There was no announcement. He simply started saying no when he usually said yes. No explanation given. He just wasn’t feeling the vibes anymore.

LA Cool Guy went dark on Instagram. No one knew where he was, or who he was with. He wasn’t at the usual spots. His feed dropped to 6 photos. DM’s went unanswered. Girls were freaking out across all of Los Angeles. He became a complete mystery… for weeks.
Dialing back social plans is never easy, but it gets so much easier. The first thing to go were the hangovers. He could finally think clearly and not ruin every Saturday after a Friday night out.

LA Cool Guy didn’t quit drinking. He quit drinking every night. That’s when he made the switch to natural wine for special occasions only. There was no looking back. All of his hobbies started becoming a “thing” again. Surfing in the mornings, working on his apartment, building cool shit, eating healthy, playing tennis. Waking up early for the first time ever.

He was feeling good, like himself again — and looking hotter than ever. Eventually enough time had passed to slowly make a comeback. It was right in time for his buddy’s birthday, an end of summer dinner party in the Hollywood Hills.
He had plans to arrive late, leave early. Keep a low profile. But nothing ever goes as planned for LA Cool Guy. He walked in, and that’s when he saw her. This was the girl he’d been waiting for.
Now you’re really going to hate me when I leave you on this cliffhanger. But you know me, I love the thrill and the story is just beginning.
To be continued…
